Antique English writing slope with mother of pearl and abalone inlay

A Victorian, circa 1860-1880, ebonized writing slope. Beautifully inlaid with mother of pearl and abalone geometric bands. 

The interior opens to a crimson velvet writing surface with delicate gilt tooling. Beneath the slope are original storage compartments.

Comes with a working key and original ink pot. 

Disclaimer: There is a visible age-related crack to the exterior, but the box remains solid and fully funtional.
