One in the warm light of morning and the other beneath a darkening evening sky. Signed lower left and lower right. Presented in matching giltwood frames.
Artist biography: George Dodgson Callow (1829–1875) was an English artist who specialized in landscapes and nautical scenes. Callow was born in Liverpool in 1829 and came from a family of artists. Two of his paintings were exhibited at the Royal Academy and a number of his pieces are part of public collections in the United Kingdom, including Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art and Brighton and Hove Museum and Art Gallery.
